Now that you're in Lipscomb, have seen our museum, and have toured the town, you may be wondering what else is going on. Glad you asked!
In addition to fine art furniture designer Doug Ricketts, Lipscomb boasts the Naturally Yours Art Gallery and Dance Platform. Four times a year a great big outdoor dance is held (on the third Saturday of June, July, August, and September) with live fiddle music, homemade pioneer cooking, and great fellowship in a historic, natural setting. We have great places to birdwatch, hundreds of wild turkeys (and an occasional deer or two) right in the middle of town, and we're close to Lake Marvin and the Black Kettle National Grassland. Just up the road, in Shattuck, Oklahoma, you can experience one of the greatest historic windmill collections in America! And, the J.B. Buchanan Windmill Park in Spearman, is also just up the road, in the other direction! In Perryton, visitors can enjoy great Main Street shopping and the wonderful collections housed at their Museum of the Plains. |
