WOLF CREEK HERITAGE MUSEUM NOTES by Virginia Scott MUSEUM HAPPENINGS Well, this has been a relaxing enjoyable week and even with the wind blowing Memorial Weekend was full of visitors. The Lipscomb School had its last school reunion on Saturday and it looked like they had a good crowd. The reports we heard was that everyone had a good time with lots of memories remembered. This is one weekend where there is lots of traffic in Lipscomb with relatives visiting our cemeteries and then touring town. Please remember that even if the museum is closed, you can always find myself or someone in town that can open. We request that you call us and make arrangements ahead of time so we can ensure someone is available. We are beginning the process for constructing our new addition. The contractor met with our architect and county judge to start the process so look for a summer start date. We still need funds to complete the cost of the construction so keep us in mind for memorials, etc. HISTORICAL MUSINGS We are acknowledging the Classes of 1963 who are celebrating their 50th anniversary this year. This week we honor the Higgins Class of 1963, 15 strong. Willis Smith, Margie Thomas, Jane Bryant, Judy Butts, Bill Trosper, J.D. Barton, Terry Langkeit, Joy Rippstein, Paula Eckardt, Faye Fiel, R.H. Minton, Betty Barnard, LaDonna Forbau, Dona Slavin, and Tommy Hausler. Have a good week. |
