HISTORICAL MUSINGS Below is a short news item from the November, 1962 Kiowa Valley Independent newspaper, If I have used it before, forgive me. I think it shows how times have changed. "New Phone Booth Installed" A new convenience to motorists, businessmen, and local citizens was added to the city of Darrouzett last week when the General Telephone Company installed a phone booth in front of the Miller Equipment Co. There is another convenient phone located at the Darrouzett Coop Service station. the business men of the town appreciate the new booths as it keeps their lines from being tied up by the frequent use by passing motorists. Today, they come in asking for internet connection or Wi-Fi. |
