WOLF CREEK HERITAGE MUSEUM NOTES by Virginia Scott MUSEUM NOTES Well, another year has arrived. The museum is starting its year with a new approach in our student exhibit. Each school is asked to coordinate with their students and submit their selected works to us and then they will be a panel of judges and prizes awarded. Lovella Theissen is working with Amy Hamilton to manage the exhibit. For complete information you can call Lovella here at the museum, 806-852-2123. We have also received some interesting donations for our collection for the Moffatt family. The items have some wonderful example of the purses and cosmetic cases ladies used in the twenties. We have had fun examining the items. Stay tuned for the progress of this donation as we arrange display in our case for personal apparrel. Dorothy and Ann are snow birding down south so it is only Georgia, Lovella, Fern, and I keeping the shop running. I am trying to collect 2012 activities for the annual report, Lovella is trying to summarize our hours, Fern and Georgia are in charge of our collection backlog. So we are starting the year off with plenty to do. We appreciate the donations we receive for each of you whether it is time, money, stories, family photos or possessions, they are all of use to us. I will remind you again that when cleaning out your closet or grandmas remember us before you toss it. This my first column of the new year is short and sweet and promise to try making each column this year as interesting as we can. |
