WOLF CREEK HERITAGE MUSEUM NOTES by Virginia Scott MUSEUM HAPPENINGS A quiet week so we could do catch up with our various projects. We are planning new exhibits and changing some our gift shop displays. We have great books, t-shirts, and aprons for Christmas gifts so please put us on your shopping list for Christmas items. Pam Tyson will be taking her quilts down this week and our November exhibit will be Kelly Kjos and Kyler Koch collection of snowmen and nut crackers. This exhibit should be fun and put us all in the holiday spirit. HISTORICAL MUSINGS It has been a hundred years for school rivalries in sports. Here is the newspaper report of the games between Lipscomb and Follett: "The games had good crowds of the town's people and considerable interest was taken in who would be who. Everything was real jolly and all hands seemed to be well pleased. It was the first matched games that have been played this term. The Follett girls seemed to be right in their prime and took the candy away from the Lipscomb girls ...The Lipscomb school boys when it came their time to do the playing well they just walked away from the dear Follett boys as though they were standing still." |
