WOLF CREEK HERITAGE MUSEUM NOTES by Virginia Scott MUSEUM HAPPENINGS It is with a sad heart that I write the column this week. We have lost one of Lipscomb's Life time residents and a founder of the Lipscomb County Historical Commission, LaVaun Kraft. LaVaun died Monday morning and we will miss her. She has been a friend for many years. She was a founding member of the Lipscomb County Historical Commission and on the board from 1986 thur 2000. She was on the board when the museum building was built. As one of our core volunteers, she worked with Dorothy Schoenhals in managing our Cemetery Book and obtaining Cemetery Markers for those graves that needed them. She and her husband Merle also placed the American flags on the military graves on all national holidays. LaVaun also assisted with our computer records of our members and the archival records. The museum was just one of her activities, she was always busy and loved her annual trip with her girlfriend. LaVaun will be missed. The Museum sends their condolences to her family. SHE WILL BE MISSED. |
