A good week. A full attendance at the board meeting on Wednesday and we conducted our business within an efficient one hour and half. The group welcomed Mickey Simpson as the new county judge. Willis will continue to represent Higgins on the board. The 2018 goals were evaluated and goals for 2019 were approved. The annual report will be presented next quarter. Virginia Scott reported on the replacement of the museum camera and the search for a new sound system.
Approval for new banking arrangements and signatures was given with a final report next meeting.

Attendance at Bingo was over 20 and fun was had by all. Almost everyone had a bingo at least once. We need "guy" prizes if you have something to donate to our prize closet.
Genealogy meets first Wednesday of the month. Next meeting is Feb. 6 at 1pm.
Next meeting the nominating committee will report on slate of officers.

In the Feb 27, 1919 issue, the "Near-By Gossip" column in the Limelight reported the following:
"While out hunting with a party of young men Sunday afternoon, Paul Rogers was seriously injured by the accidental discharge of his gun. He was crawling through a fence using the gun to balance himself with the muzzle pointed toward him. It is thought that his foot struck the trigger, for the gun went off putting a load of chilled shot through his right arm about three inches below the shoulder. ...The boys phoned to town for aid and he was brought to town where his wounds were dressed, and then removed to the Amarillo sanitarium on the Sunday evening train."

Interesting how our terminology changes over the years. Have a good week.
